Empowering Women, Transforming Lives

The journey of a woman is a beautiful yet challenging one.  As a woman, I have strived through many difficult challenges that have brought me out of a life filled with grief, struggles, addiction, and loss of happiness.  I lost a lot of wonderful years and I am now working to gain it all back while making a great big impact on women within my community and society.  

I'm working hard towards a life lived in peace and through sobriety.  I work hard every day in making extra effort to remember who I was, what I have come out of, and what I am going to do for my future.  I am building a company that will house women and provide shelter to those women who are struggling with drug and substance abuse and addictions.  The home will also serve as a shelter for women who are striving to have a better life whether it be from issues brought forth from drug/substance addictions, domestic violence, or transitioning from jail or prison.  The house will serve as a basic foundation that will provide women with a structured facility providing self-reliance, responsibility, trust, and a social connection that will address all issues of life to ensure that the individual will have all the tools needed to become self-sufficient. 

I started late in life realizing that an education was extremely important and I am now working on my Doctorates Degree in Public Business Administration.  Earning my  Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (specialization in Entrepreneurship) and later received my Master of Business administration (concentration in management), as well as for receiving my certification in clerical/administrative. I am working towards providing services and programs to the women of Casa Susan Inc. providing the ability to further their education and being a resource for them to assist them through therapy, mentorship, advocacy, coaching, and career and job opportunities that will help them in their journey to be self-reliant.  Besides loving oneself and caring for oneself, a woman needs to obtain a career and have goals for her future that will lead to a sustainable outcome for her and her family. Leadership and legacy are important, especially in a woman's life. We as women are not only to nurture but to guide and direct.  Obtaining an entrusted duty in any office or that to which position we must assume responsibility, we must keep in mind: "a theory of role, a theory of task, and a theory of effectiveness" (Bogue, E. G. 2007 para 1).  These theories guide, direct, and constitute a belief model on how effectiveness is to be assessed.  Education to me is essentially important and this is something that I like to illustrate throughout the entire restoration process.  

Trusting in the restoration process is critically essential for the individual and creating an environment where she knows that she can be herself will motivate her to achieve great things.  This will also help to create a circle of people who will support her as well as for her ability to confide and collaborate throughout the recovery process.  We at Casa Susan create an atmosphere where she can live life and work at building herself esteem through a variety of tasks, responsibilities, and duties within the home.  The responsibilities that she will obtain are going to help her achieve what she desires to overcome barriers that prevent her from achieving any personal, educational, career, societal, and other goals she wishes to achieve.  Casa Susana provides services and programs that will grant the individual to succeed in all aspects of life whether that be through providing education on finances,  receiving an education (career-related, training, or certifications), parenting, classes, drug and alcohol addiction recovery, transitioning, and domestic violence prevention/treatment by first believing in herself,  then taking charge of her life,  for her ability to create healthy and positive decisions ensuring that she concisely makes wise decisions on a day-to day-basis and creating SMART future goals.
